Indian (Bharateeyudu 1996 movie), directed by Shankar, stands out as one of the best political-themed films, resonating beyond Tamil audiences to become a special film for Telugu viewers with ‘Bharateeyudu’.
Now, the highly anticipated sequel’s trailer is out, and it must be said, it appears quite ordinary.
At least, going by the trailer, the story revealed at a high level looks like run-of-the-mill, nothing exciting, as these types of political corruption and crimes are seen on TVs daily and hourly these days. It’s crucial to craft a trailer that shocks or intrigues viewers more cinematically.
Technical values too, including Kamal Haasan’s makeup, which was amazing in the first part, do not create any excitement here, along with the background music (BGM) that feels like it was not composed by Anirudh.
Given such a trailer, if Shankar manages to deliver a memorable sequel, it would indeed be a pleasant surprise. Let’s hope for the best.
