Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 is one of the most awaited films of the year after the success of the first part.
The movie was supposed to be released on August 15th. It is an excellent date because there are five holidays on the trot.
But then, Sukumar shot the film at a snail’s pace and so, the makers have missed the date. The loss is now clearly visible.
Stree2 was released in Hindi on the same day after Pushpa 2 was postponed. The movie has got good talk and it has collected around ₹65 crores NBOC, including paid premieres.
The film has beaten the likes of Pathaan, Jawan, and Animal in many of the mass circuits and even Gadar 2 in some pockets.
Stree 2 is also a sequel and Pushpa 2 would have also the same advantage and probably even bigger due to the mass value and penetration into the grassroots especially in the Hindi markets.
The advantage would have been phenomenal even in the domestic markets.
Sukumar has to take the blame for missing such a Golden Date. The postponement for three months would already cost several Crores due to the interests for the producers. The loss of this opening is even more painful for them.
The shooting has picked pace in the last couple of weeks. The makers are hopeful that it will be completed in time for the December release.
But at the same time, they are saying – “With Sukumar, We Never Know”.
