The Malayalam film industry has given some extraordinary pieces of cinema this year and some big hits as well. But the biggest disaster of the year too comes from the Malayalam industry as well.
Superstar Mohanlal’s much anticipated movie ‘Barroz’ could not be able to do much at the box office and is running at 90 percent loss at the time.

According to trade analysts, the movie made an opening of 3.4 crores on 25th December. On the 2nd and 3rd day it saw a downward fall and the collection was 1.6 crore and 1.1 crore respectively.
On the fourth day there was a very slight growth and it made 1.25 crore. The overall collection of the movie is as little as 7.36 crores and it will be difficult for the movie to even go above 10.

This is Mohanlal’s directorial debut and the star has had a disastrous start with that. His last film ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban’ too did not have an expected box office business.
Next year, the much hyped sequel for Mohanlal’s ‘Lucifer’ will be coming and it might make up for the losses the star made this year. ‘Drishyam 3’ is also in the works and it might commence shooting in 2025 as well.
