The Telugu film industry is witnessing an interesting phenomenon where the disciples of Sukumar are starting to make steady progress. Earlier it was the case of Buchi Babu who made a big film like Peddi with Ram Charan and now, it is Srikanth Odela with Paradise.
The interesting coincidence between these two former disciples of Sukumar is that they weee successful with their first films. But they fumbled with their second films, which happened to be the biggest project of their brief careers.
Now, the discussion has already shifted towards the upcoming mandates for these two young filmmakers.
Buchi Babu to enter the big league and gain the attention of big stars after Peddi but that wasn’t to be. Not just did he Bumble the big opportunity, but he is now no longer in the contention to direct any top league star at this point.
Srikanth Odela also managed to grab a big opportunity with Paradise, which had the relentless efforts of extremely efficient Nani and surplus budgets. But the execution and actual writing capabilities were lacking.
Only time will tell what would be the upcoming collaborations of Buchi Babu and Srikanth at this point in time. Had they made the best of the opportunity that they got with their second films, the story could’ve been completely different.
Now they will have to be at the mercy of other actors who might otherwise be prepared to engage with them at this point. There is no certainty whatsoever on this front.
