Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming socio fantasy action film Vishwambhara was one of the most talked about projects when it was announced. Directed by Mallidi Vassishta and produced by UV Creations, the film was announced on a grand scale with a massive budget and heavy VFX elements. However, the excitement surrounding the project nosedived after the teaser.
The teaser faced heavy trolling on social media mainly because of its poor visual effects. Many viewers felt the CGI looked outdated and unfinished, which was surprising for a big budget film starring a big hero like Chiranjeevi. Some also pointed out that most of the shots looked like copied from Hollywood films.
Many fans also blamed cinematographer Chota K Naidu, saying the visuals and shot composition looked old fashioned and failed to elevate the scale of the scenes shown in the teaser.
Responding to the backlash during a press meet, Chota K Naidu has now clarified that cinematographers are not responsible for the final quality of CGI. According to him, modern VFX heavy films always have dedicated CGI technicians on set who supervise such shots. He explained that in Vishwambhara as well, no shot was filmed without the approval of the VFX team.
After the teaser backlash, the film’s buzz dropped significantly and even the production house remained silent for a while. Industry reports suggested that the project had crossed its budget and the makers were hesitant to spend more on VFX corrections. There were also rumors that Chiranjeevi himself was unhappy with the quality of the effects.
However, the latest industry talk indicates that these issues have now been resolved. The makers are reportedly planning to complete the remaining work and aim for a release in the second half of 2026.
