Whether or not the makers (the director and producers) want it, one way or the other Salaar is drawing a lot of ire of Kannada fans. Previously, the director Prashanth Neel addressing the issue avoided the topic entirely. And now, it is the turn of Karthik Gowda.
To those who don’t know who Karthik Gowda is – he is the executive producer of Homable Films, the banner which produces Salaar. Like Prashanth Neel, he too is facing the heat of the local media regarding the production.
It is in an interaction that Karthik Gowda revealed that Salaar is originally a Kannada movie. It was said in response to a question if Prabhas would dub for the film in Kannada insinuating the film as a dubbed venture.
The remark of Karthik Gowda has left many confused regarding the originality of Salaar. If it is a Kannada movie, does it mean it will be presented as a dubbed version in other languages? Will the Telugu fans of Prabhas be okay with it?
However, a piece of good news that comes out of it is that Salaar won’t be a remake. There was a rumour going on that it could be a remake or adaptation of Prashanth Neel’s Ugramm. Now, we can entirely rule it out. The clarity has given relief to fans.
Right now, no one has a clue on Salaar except the title and Prabhas’s presence, and that it would be a bloody violent flick. A new update is expected in a couple of weeks from the makers. Let’s see what would be out then, and would it give closure to the speculations?
