After Pawan’s Attarintiki Daaredhi, Nadiya will next be seen in Venkatesh’s ‘Drishyam’, which is gearing up for release in July. The film has been directed by Sripriya and Nadiya feels that it doesn’t matter whether a man or woman directs a film because at the end of the way it’s content that’s matters the most.
She said a film’s success depends on content and performances and not on whether it is directed by a man or woman. But I believe the success of ‘Drishyam’ will motivate a new crop of filmmakers. Nadiya, who found working on Drishyam a fabulous experience had some lovely things to say about her director. While she was little insecure to work Sripriya initially, but all that fear changed when they started working.
I was apprehensive about how she will approach a film compared to a male director but I soon realised that at the end of the day, work is work and it doesn’t matter who is doing it. But the advantage was that since I was working with Sripriya, I spent a lot of time bonding with her off the sets. We had a lot of woman talk and that helped us in the overall shooting experience. All this made working with her a fabulous experience.
