Vivek Agnihotri adopted a unique strategy to promote his last film, The Kashmir Files. Six months before the theatrical release, he had special screenings in 15 U.S. cities.
Sold-out screenings at premier theaters featured invited audiences, including politicians, media figures, and community members. The videos and reviews from these screenings were made viral on social media.
These videos were cut so that a section of the public (the extreme right-wingers) got excited to watch the film and promoted the movie in a big way. The film became a huge blockbuster when it was released theatrically.
Now Vivek Agnihotri repeats the same strategy for his upcoming film, The Vaccine War. The makers have planned paid pre-release premieres in Dallas, Houston, Denver, Sanjose, LA, Chicago, Atlanta, New Jersey, and New York between August 15 to September 4.
The Vaccine War is scheduled to release on September 28, clashing with Prabhas’ Salaar. Last time The Kashmir Files clashed with Radhe Shyam and defeated it. We have to see if Prabhas will take revenge on Vivek this time.
