Nandamuri Balakrishna had a new theatrical release in the form of Daaku Maharaj which released in theatres yesterday. Coming to the box office side of things, the film has posted a strong enough start.
The film is particularly strong in the Ceded region which is anyway a strong zone for Balayya. It opened with a strong Rs 7 crore gross here which is a good tally.

The nizam belt reportedly posted in the region of Rs 6 crore which is again a good number. Being a mass film, the film expectedly fared well in the mass pockets of the Telugu states.
The good thing for the film is that it is not facing too much competition from Game Changer which is not in the position to dominate other Sankranthi films. So, Balayya mark Mass is being observed in certain as belts.

This could very well be the second biggest opener for Balayya right behind his very best starter Veera Simha Reddy.
Going by the early reception, Balayya has pretty much completed a 4-film success streak after Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, and Bhagawanth Kesari. This is well and truly a comeback for the ages from Balayya.

However, the challenge here will be that Balayya must face competition from Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vastunnam which looks set for mass beating.
Considering the genre advantage, the Venkatesh film will happily become the first choice for family audience while Daaku will have to run entirely on mass audience.
