Now that director Koratala has elaborated on the making of Devara Part Two and what it will offer, there is one department that has faced unanimous criticism since the very first promotional footage of Devara was released.
It was DOP Ratnavelu’s work that shocked NTR fans.
As we reported earlier, heroes like NTR, Charan, and Allu Arjun share similar heights, but on-screen, they never appear short due to the aura and screen presence they carry.
However, Ratnavelu failed to present NTR properly, and after the release, all doubts became clear. Many shots of NTR did not look good, leaving many puzzled as to how a senior DOP like Ratnavelu missed them.
While Ratnavelu is a proven technician, Devara was his first event film in recent times. Although he previously worked on Enthiran (Robot), most of his recent works have been in more conventional setups.
This may explain why he faltered on basic issues. It would be wise for the core team NTR and Koratala, to recognize this and consider replacing him if they are moving forward with Devara Part Two.
Luckily, the first part was successful and left no room for trolling. Otherwise, mistakes like these could cost heroes a lifetime.
