Coming to the point, it is confirmed that Devara has a run time of 2 hours 57 minutes after the censor. This is a lengthy runtime for a commercial potboiler.

More concerning for those involved, the film will apparently have special shows starting at 1 AM in most parts of the Telugu state.

Needless to say, holding 1 AM fan shows for a film that is three hours long is not a great idea. The audience will not be in the right frame of mind anyway to watch a film for three hours. Adding to that, Devara already has high expectations, being a mass film.

It would be a huge risk to hold those early shows which are predominantly attended by fans. There is a huge risk of negative talk being spread out even before the release, right from these shows.

Or else, the only solution is that Koratala must have delivered a spotless product that has absolutely no lag. This is the only way the early shows can be justified with this lengthy runtime.
