Devara Hindi BO

NTR’s Devara is the next big thing from Tollywood, with immense anticipation surrounding this pan-India project, especially after the global success of RRR.

The promotional campaign is in full swing, and the excitement at the grassroots level has prompted buyers to invest decently in its theatrical rights.

The Hindi rights were sold to Anil Thadani for a substantial ₹50 crores, as reported by the Bollywood media. Typically, the breakeven point for this investment would be around ₹100 crores net to recoup the distributor’s share.

However, recent trade reports indicate that Devara only needs to earn ₹15 crores in distributor share to break even. This means that if the film collects ₹30-35 crores net in Hindi, it will be considered a hit.

Given the extensive promotions, Devara ideally should have aimed for an opening of ₹8-10 crores in Hindi. However, if it opens in the range of ₹5-6 crores and receives positive word of mouth, that would still be considered a solid start.

The film is also aiming to achieve numbers similar to Hanu Man, which emerged as a big hit this year, grossing ₹65 crores net and yielding a distributor share of ₹35 crores from the Hindi markets.
