NTR’s Devara has achieved decent success at the Hindi box office. The film has crossed the ₹50 crore net mark in its Hindi-dubbed version and is heading towards a ₹60 crore lifetime, making it an above-average grosser.
Devara received a mixed response but still managed to earn ₹44 crore net in its first week. The film also benefited from a lack of competition at the box office.
On the second Saturday, it grossed around ₹2.5-₹2.75 crore net, reflecting a 30% increase compared to the second Friday.
Expectations are high for today, with predictions suggesting it could reach between ₹3 crore and ₹4 crore nett.
The final box office numbers for Devara are positive when compared to pre-release expectations. However, they fall short given the strong opening day the film achieved.
The overall trend for Devara at the Hindi box office hasn’t been particularly strong. The film’s ability to draw audiences was primarily due to NTR’s star power and the appeal of the action genre.
While it can be viewed as a good success for NTR as a solo lead in the Hindi market, director Koratala Siva failed to leave any kind of impact on Hindi audiences with an average film.
If the film had turned out better, Devara would have easily crossed 100 crores and might even touched 125 crores in the long run with positive word of mouth. But Koratala’s not-so-exciting storytelling affected its box office prospects.
Devara joins the list of six successful non-Bollywood films in the Hindi market for 2024:
– Hanuman (Telugu) – HIT
– Kung Fu Panda 4 (Hollywood) – Average
– Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire (Hollywood) – HIT
– Kalki 2898 AD (Telugu) – HIT
– Deadpool and Wolverine – HIT
– Devara (Telugu) – Above Average
