Devara’s Underestimating Aspect: Can It Surprise?

Saif Ali Khan Devara

After the release of Devara’s trailer, Koratala Siva and NTR faced mixed reactions for not matching the expectations. Saif Ali Khan also faced some criticism that he doesn’t look intimidating or powerful enough as the villain in Devara.

However, those familiar with Saif Ali Khan’s work know that he excels in villainous roles. His ability to bring depth and intensity to antagonistic characters is well-established.

Saif’s portrayal of Langda Tyagi in Omkara is one of his most memorable performances. His ability to embody a ruthless and cunning character with intense aggression set a high standard for villainous roles in Indian cinema.

In Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Saif played Udaybhan Rathod, a sadistic Rajput fort keeper, delivering a performance that was both terrifying and magnetic due to his charm and chilling calmness.

In Ek Haseena Thi, Saif’s role as Karan Singh Rathod, a deceitful con man, showcased his talent for playing morally corrupt characters with ease.

Even in a most trolled film like Adipurush where every actor delivered their worst performance, Saif was the only one who was having fun in the film as Ravana.

This sets a positive precedent for his role in Devara which cannot be under-estimated.

However, the true measure of his impact will depend on how effectively director Koratala Siva utilizes Saif’s talents and skills. If Koratala maximizes Saif’s strengths, the actor could shine and even steal the show.
