Ramayana has found itself in the spotlight once again. This time because of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis striking remarks. Speaking at the inauguration of Prime Focus Studios, Devendra Fadnavis described Ramayana as “the film of the millennium”.
Devendra Fadnavis said he would be disappointed if the film failed to win an Oscar, calling it a production with the potential to take Indian cinema to the global stage. The Chief Minister’s endorsement reflects the confidence surrounding the scale and international standards the makers are aiming to achieve.
With expectations already sky-high, the Chief Minister’s remarks have only added to the anticipation. Whether Ramayana ultimately fulfills those Oscar hopes remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—the film has become one of the most eagerly awaited Indian releases in recent years.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana Featurs Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, the film promises a visually spectacular retelling of the ancient epic.
