One of the handful of Sankranthi releases is Eagle, which has Ravi Teja in the lead role. The trailer for the film was unveiled by the makers today and it promises a mass actioner.
Ravi Teja is introduced as a man of the masses who has a violent and terrorizing background. The rugged look with a beard and long hair. He is regarded as a man of destruction and the action shots back it up. It is refreshing to see Ravi Teja in a makeover look.
The Indian defense troops, seeming Naxalites and a gang of local goons are after the main man, played by Ravi Teja. The reason is the inhumane destruction he did one night. What happened that night? What is the degree of destruction that pushed everyone to go after one man? This is the hook point.
The visuals are slick and that is a given, considering that the film is directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, a talented cinematographer. The background score uses vocals for elevation effects and this works well.
There is a lot of emphasis on elevation dialogues and perhaps a bit too many are used in the trailer. It is upon the film to back it all up with adequate mass appeal.
The film is set for release on the 13th of this month, marking the Sankranthi season. People Media Factory have produced the film on a lavish scale.
