Tillu Square Godzilla X Kong

The summer has started with a bang for the film industry in the country. All the major industries are thriving except for one, with multiple films performing exceptionally well.

Tollywood is on fire with “Tillu Square” raking in huge collections in Telugu states and the US, surpassing all expectations. The film has already amassed around a 20 crore share worldwide. It’s projected to break even by Sunday and turn a profit by Monday.

Bollywood is experiencing a much-needed hit with “Crew,” starring Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Tabu. Despite lacking major male leads, this quirky heist comedy has won over its target audience. It’s anticipated to gross around 32-33 crore net over the weekend, a significant success.

The Malayalam industry has been unstoppable since the beginning of the year. Following blockbusters like “Bramayugam,” “Premalu,” and “Manjummel Boys,” Prithviraj Sukumaran’s “The Goat Life” continues to enjoy phenomenal success. With a worldwide gross of around 45 crores in just three days, the film is sprinting towards the 100 crore mark.

However, the Tamil industry stands in stark contrast, delivering only flops this year. Big releases like “Captain Miller,” “Ayalaan,” and “Lal Salaam” have all floundered miserably. With no major summer releases in sight, theaters in Tamil Nadu are relying on dubbed films like “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire” to sustain business.

Behind the scenes, the situation runs deeper. Tamil stars are engrossed in their political endeavors, neglecting their duty to uplift their own film industry. Their audience yearns for quality Tamil content, urging the industry to rise to the occasion and deliver.
