Despite not-so-great roles in Sukumar’s Pushpa 1 and Pushpa 2, his popularity kept multiplying.
Fahadh did not immediately sign a direct Telugu project after Pushpa, possibly after the raw deal he got in that film. His Telugu fans kept wondering when he would return to Telugu cinema in a solid role. Now, that wait appears to be coming to an end.
It is well known that a new film is in development featuring Venkatesh Daggubati under the direction of Anil Ravipudi. For quite some time, strong buzz suggested that Fahadh Faasil would be playing a key role in this project. That speculation now seems to have been confirmed. Reports indicate that Anil Ravipudi recently met Fahadh and narrated the complete script, which the actor reportedly liked. Discussions are said to be in the agreement stage, and an official announcement is expected once formalities are completed.
There were also media reports that Karthi was being considered for the same role. However, reliable sources have clarified that Fahadh Faasil was the first and only choice for the character right from the beginning.
Fahadh has mainly been seen in negative roles in Telugu films, but those who have watched his Malayalam movies are well aware of his brilliant comic timing and versatility. If he is given a strong role, he will fit seamlessly into Anil Ravipudi’s brand of entertainment, which balances humor, emotion, and mass appeal. This combination is expected to offer something fresh and engaging. Let’s hope Anil Ravipudi gives Fahadh a deserving role which Sukumar failed to give such a gifted actor.
The makers are reportedly targeting a Sankranti 2027 release. This will be the fifth collab between Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi. With Fahadh Faasil joining this successful combination, expectations around the project are set to rise further.
