M9 News Journalist Nishant sat with Hero Kiran Abbavaram ahead of the release of his KA on October 31st. The movie has garnered good buzz with a promising teaser.
We started off with the meaning of the film title ‘KA’ and if having two directors will not lead to disagreements very often.
When asked if the screenplays in Time-Turner films can be confusing to the audience, Kiran Abbavaram said, “There is a bit of complex screenplay in KA as well. There will be some unexplained twists. But as we approach the climax, everything will be clear. Even the General audience will easily understand the purpose of the film”.
Kiran narrated how a major portion of the film was shot in some forest areas of Karnataka. We asked him why the film budgets shoot up for outdoors. He explained in detail about the pros and cons of shooting outdoors. And how such shoots will incur an additional 10% costs.
The actor also revealed how important the film is to him. “When the budget is shooting up, I had to come on board as another producer. I have invested all my savings on this film to enhance the quality. If this film fails, I will have to start from Zero. If it works, people around me will get settled in their careers,” he said.
Citing an example of how a 150 Crore+ budget film is also being trolled for poor VFX, we asked him what it takes to get good VFX even with a limited budget.
He also expressed his opinion about the ongoing discussion on if a good cinematographer is necessary for getting good quality VFX.
Kiran Abbavaram also revealed why he maintains a big office in Filmnagar and so much of staff while many big heroes do not even do that.
He also spoke about the paid social media campaign that is run on him.
“We have seen some big heroes suffering due to paid campaigns these days. For a long time, my films suffered. There used to be a massive number of dislikes on Book My Show for my films and people would give bad reviews on Twitter and abuse without even watching my films. I honestly do not know who is behind this. If I know, I will not hesitate to talk about them,” he said.
