
Tollywood is signing off January today and welcoming February as a handful of films are gearing up for release coming month.
However, there is one key pointer for February releases as Tollywood prepares for what appears to be rather hot and cold season.

We have Thandel on February 7 which is the most notable release of the month, followed by the likes of Laila and Dilruba on Feb 14 on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.
However, it has never reached a point where all these films need to take inspiration from recent Sankranthi blockbuster Sankranthi Ki Vasthunnam.

This Venkatesh film released without any unnecessary ticket hikes or additional shows. It came with economical pricing options and normal shows which worked well in its favor.
It could perhaps be argued that February releases or not carrying the greatest of hype. Adding to that this month is usually regarded as a dry month for Tollywood as historically, it has been rather stringent at the box office.

With this in mind, the makers are better off planning, normal ticket prices, instead of going for hikes and killing whatever prospects they have.
The best possible option here is to go with ordinary prices, whatever audience they can, and then build on it by using the word of mouth. This is the action plan that almost perfectly suits these three notable February releases.
Earlier we saw with the Venkatesh film that normal ticket prices can also return extraordinary numbers. If the right content is offered at the right time.
It is true that the film had Sankranthi advantage which largely contributed, but at the same time, it can also be noted that these films did not necessarily make as much money to be successful. The first target must be at pulling the audience, and that is possible, almost certainly with normal prices.
It has to be seen how the producers will play their cards now as they will have to be very careful with the same.
