The Gaddar awards being presented by the Telangana government have been announced by jury chairperson Jayasudha. She held a press meet along with FDC chairman Dil Raju to announce the names.
The jury received 1248 nominations in all and the winners were announced from them. Allu Arjun bagged the best actor award for Pushpa 2.
The best film category had multiple choices. Two films along with Kalki bagged the best film award.
2024 best films include Kalki 2898 AD as the first best film, second best film was Pottel and third best film was Lucky Bhaskar. The best children’s film was 35 Idi Chinna Katha Kadu.
In the history feature category, heritage film Rajakar got the honours. Best film in popular category was Aay. Award for best debutant director went to Yadhuvamsi for Committee Kurrallu.
The best director award went to Nag Ashwin for Kalki. Best hero is Allu Arjun and best actress is Nivetha Thomas for 35 Idi Chinna Katha Kadu. Best music director is Bheems for Razakar.
The special jury awards went to Dulquer Salman for Lucky Bhaskar, Ananya Nagalla for Pottel. Sudeep and Sandeep are the best directors for Ka.
These awards are among the other top awards in various categories. The awards are being given after 14 years. In all, awards were announced in 11 categories.
From 2014 to 2023, one best film for each year was announced. Only censored films were considered. For 2024, awards were given in all categories.
Apart from Telugu, Urdu films were also announced. The awards will be given on June 14.
