Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is celebrating his birthday today and there’s a lot to look forward to for him towards the fag end of this year as he has an ambitious project, Devil lined up for release.
Kalyan Ram is always regarded as a fine performer. He can excel in most roles he plays. But the problem always lied with consistency.
He made a towering comeback with Pataas and then gained the trust of the audience again with Bimbisara. It came at a time when Tollywood was struggling in post-Covid wave and posted very good openings, thus showing Kalyan Ram still has what it takes to pull the audience.
Particularly, Bimbisara had a good commercial appeal and also reestablished him as a commercial hero. He can also bank on the sequel of the film which isn’t happening at the moment but might materialise in the due course, and when that happens, the film holds very good prospects.
Making good films consistently has always been evading Kalyan Ram. Once he strings two to three consecutive hits, his market will indeed see an upsurge as the Nandamuri follower base will also come into play.
For now, the onus is on Kalyan Ram to make a striking comeback again with Devil which is said to be based on the mystery of Subash Chandrabose s death. This has good pan Indian appeal if executed well. Can the Nandamuri hero strike a chord with this film and then come up with quality cinema on a regular basis? Nandamuri fans are certainly hoping for the same.
