Indeed it was a bold step on the part of the producers to hold a special screening for the media persons even before two days to go for the film to hit screens. If the talk turns out to be negative, there is every chance even to spoil the opening collections of the movie. But deciding to face all the odds, ‘Drushyam’ makers went for special screening and thankfully the movie got postive response from the critics. Why did the film makers even take the chance of risk to hold a screening prior to the release?
These days even a small hero’s film is taking to heavy promotions. Especially music launch and other publicity events are planned in full scale. However any movie enthusiast can easily say that ‘Drushyam’ isn’t promoted extensively. There was no audio launch to give full exposure to the common man. Hence confident on the content of the movie and the universality of the theme selected, the makers might have gone for special screening. Which is now helping the movie in a big way.
In a way this is also like a counter publicity for RGV’s ‘Ice Cream’ to be released the next day after Venky’s film release. RGV promoted his film well with all the nude talk about heroine Tejaswi and the flow cam technology. May be the substance of ‘Drushyam’ gave the director and producers for pre-release screening. Let’s see if ‘Ice Cream’ can stop from melting away.
