iBomma Ravi is now very familiar among movie audiences for running large scale movie piracy websites. According to reports, he allegedly earned hundreds of crores through these activities. At the same time, piracy was said to have caused heavy financial losses to the film industry.
After collecting evidence, police arrested him, and the court sent him to judicial custody. He reportedly spent nearly three months in jail. During this period, investigators are said to have gathered important information related to his network and digital operations.
After completing around three months in jail, Ravi secured bail under strict conditions. He is not allowed to use the internet without prior police permission. He must appear before Cyber Crime officials every day. He has to surrender his passport and cannot leave the country without approval. Soon after his release, he followed the court’s orders and appeared before Cyber Crime officials as instructed.
When he stepped out of the police station, media personnel surrounded him and asked multiple questions about the piracy allegations. However, Ravi did not respond. He remained silent, folded his hands in greeting, and walked away. Reporters repeatedly pressed him, asking if his silence meant he was admitting to being piracy thief and accepting the charges against him. Despite the aggressive questioning, he neither denied nor confirmed anything. He simply indicated that his lips were sealed and he would not speak.
Interestingly, piracy did not stop even while he was in jail. Newly released films continued to appear online soon after their theatrical release.
Now the main question is whether Ravi will stay away from piracy after facing legal action or whether the network will continue in some other form. Authorities are expected to keep a close watch on him in the coming months.
