Tamil cinema is witnessing a very interesting passage with regard to the superstar segment of the film industry. This started when Thalapathy Vijay communicated a couple of years ago that he would be entering the political scene.
Now, Vijay has become the chief minister of Tamil Nadu and it appears to have given new hopes to other top heroes in the industry to pursue political ambitions themselves.
For instance, we have the case of Dhanush who is actively working on his political entry, and there are reports that he could be joining the AIADMK outfit soon. It is reported that the BJP leadership is actively in talks with him and wants Dhanush to join their ally party AIADMK.
It should be a matter of time before Dhanush enters the active political scene and maintain constant presence in the Tamil Nadu social equilibrium.
Then we have the case of Sivakarthikeyan, who is also reportedly considering the idea of entering the political scene. He had also been enriching his fan groups across Tamil Nadu with the idea of social welfare activities, which could lay the foundation for his political debut.
We have Ajith Kumar, who is completely away from the film scene and is actively focussed on his car racing career. Veteran Rajinikanth is in the final leg of his acting career as he is approaching 76.
Tamil cinema is undergoing a very interesting passage with the existing stars focussing on politics, while the other two big names Ajit Kumar and Rajinikanth have different set of personalities.
