Tamil music director Anirudh Ravichander is enjoying a successful career, often credited for the success of films due to his background score. However, he shocked everyone with his below-par work on a film from a top director, which happens to be a sequel to an iconic film.
Anirudh is receiving disastrous feedback for his music and background score for Indian 2.
Everyone expected that Anirudh couldn’t match AR Rahman, who composed for the original Indian in 1996, but no one anticipated such poor work from Anirudh either.
This has immediately sparked discussions about his upcoming films, especially the Telugu film Devara with NTR.
So far, “Fear” song from Devara has been released. Though it hasn’t become a chartbuster and isn’t everyone’s favorite, it has received some positive feedback on its own merit. The second single will be released soon.
If the second song also receives positive reviews, there may not be much discussion or doubt about his work.
In a way, Indian 2 is a setback for Devara because Anirudh is seen as a strong addition to Devara. However, the negativity surrounding his work on Indian 2 may dilute Devara’s music hype a bit.
NTR fans are hoping that Indian 2 is just a one-off miss for Anirudh and that he will deliver solid songs and background music for Devara.
