Irumudi Picks Up, Toxic Starts Slowing Down

Irumudi and Toxic box office trends

The box office trend of Irumudi and Toxic is becoming interesting. The two films started with very different numbers, but the momentum now seems to be moving in opposite directions.

Toxic opened with a massive Rs 112.05 crore India gross on Day 1. But the numbers dropped sharply after that. Day 2 came down to Rs 41.91 crore, followed by Rs 30.75 crore on Day 3. The film’s Day 3 occupancy was around 21.3%. It has reached about Rs 184.71 crore India gross after three days.

That is a big number, but Toxic is also a very expensive film and comes with huge recovery expectations. So the question is no longer about whether it had a big opening. The bigger question is how well it can hold from here.

Irumudi is showing a different trend. After collecting Rs 94.72 crore in its first week, the film bounced back on Friday with Rs 10.51 crore, a 44.3% jump from Thursday. Its Friday occupancy was around 61.5%, taking its India tracked gross past Rs 105 crore.

So while Toxic started much bigger, Irumudi is showing better hold at this stage.

One film opened with a bang. The other is slowly picking up. And that difference could become important in the coming days.
