Rajinikanth’s most anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has finally secured its release date and the makers of the film have officially announced it with a special glimpse video that the film will be released on October 15th.
Since the original Jailer was a massive success, many people predict that Jailer 2 will enjoy a huge opening. They also believe that if Jailer 2 receives a super positive response from the audience, it will become the first 1000 crore grosser in Kollywood.
Following the release date announcement of Jailer 2, many trackers are suggesting that since Dussehra offers a long weekend, the makers of Jailer 2 have secured a solid release date. They claim if Nelson Dilipkumar delivers a solid film, Jailer 2 will do wonders at the box office by utilising the long weekend.
On the other hand, the Dussehra release slot was already locked by the makers of Dhanush’s Om. However, since Jailer 2 has now announced the same release slot, Dhanush’s Om might be postponed to a new release date.
Although, earlier, Dhanush’s Pattas clashed with Rajinikanth’s Darbar and Naane Varuvean clashed with Ponniyin Selvan. However, both of these Dhanush films were medium-budget entertainers completed in fewer shooting days. So, despite the risk of clashing with biggies, they were released and secured a decent profit. But the scenario is completely opposite for Om, as it is the costliest film of Dhanush’s career. Therefore, the makers of Om might postpone the release of the film to a new date instead of clashing with Jailer 2.
Meanwhile, Dhanush fans are not happy with Jailer 2’s release slot; they got triggered and are thrashing the makers of Jailer 2 for spoiling the planned release of Dhanush’s Om. They claim that despite being a senior actor in the industry, Rajinikanth is continuously disrupting the release slots of other star actors’ films, and they feel the makers of Jailer 2 should have planned a different release date.
Ultimately, with the mixed opinions surrounding the Jailer 2 release date, it remains to be seen whether Jailer 2 satisfies the expectations of the audience and emerges as the first 1000 crore grossing film of Kollywood upon its release.
