Jayanth C Paranji gave several hits to the Telugu Film Industry working with star heroes. But after Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Teenmaar’, the popular director took a break from films. He is coming back to films now introducing a new kind of film to Telugu audiences. This film isn’t a commercial entertainer nor an art film either.
Jayanth’s next movie is a no star, no song, no romance movie. Definitely it’s an experiment in Tollywood. Earlier we got such experimental movies like ‘Rajakeeya Chadarangam’ starring legendary ANR and superstar Krishna with no songs and no romance movie when superstar Krishna’s stardom was on peaks.
And in the recent times, we have ‘Wednesday’ starring Kamal Haasan and Venkatesh in the lead roles. What sets Jayanth’s upcoming movie apart is use of no lights or generators and give each frame a RAW feel like in real life. Even he is dealing with a raw story where the lead role stumbles upon human trafficking.
Why did the popular director renounce stars and is doing a no-star film completely? He says that he is tired writing scripts to tailor the stars and hence in the process, actual story telling is lost. So, he is giving something different from regular commercial masala.
