Detroit Hindu Attacks: More Temples Allegedly Targeted

Detroit Hindu Temple Safety Concerns

Last week’s attempted mass shooting at a Hindu temple in Aurora has left NRIs in fear. Now, further attacks are being alleged across temples in the Metro Detroit area.

An unconfirmed report from X states that the Subrahmanya Temple in Farmington Hills was attacked on October 18. A trespasser entered the compound, littering the ground and hurling abuses at devotees.

The temple team managed to lock the inner door to the temple and called the police. The trespasser was reportedly arrested.

This story remains unconfirmed, with the only source being an unnamed local devotee. But it is being spread across Instagram and X.

A devotee returning from the Parashakti Temple in Pontiac was also attacked on October 19. They were reportedly shot at while in their car.

Thankfully, no injuries were sustained. The facts of the attack remain unconfirmed, but the temple authorities have stated that a devotee was targeted.

The attack apparently took place far from the temple, near Auburn Hills. Police reportedly apprehended the suspect and confirmed that the attack was not racially motivated.

This wave of attacks comes after a sharp rise in anti-Hindu sentiments in the USA. While these attacks remain unconfirmed, NRIs are urged to exercise caution and remain vigilant.
