This Independence Day weekend is going to be a special one for Indian cinema lovers as we have a couple of highly interesting projects that are lining up for release.
Firstly, the makers of NTR and Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 had communicated that the film is going to release on August 14. Considering the fact that this is a crossover film that features a Bollywood star and a Telugu superstar, it has pretty good prospects.

On the other hand, the makers of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Coolie have also communicated that the film is releasing on August 14.
Considering the fact that both these superstars driven films are releasing on the same day, at least that is the plan for now, there is a lot to look forward.

At a fundamental level, there might not be too much conflict between these two films. War 2, Featuring NTR and Hrithik Roshan will primarily target the Telugu and Hindi market, which is going to be the expected case.
On the other hand, Rajinikanth will do absolute rampage at the Tamil box office with Coolie and that is for certain. There will be substantial interest from the Telugu market as well, considering the kind of names associated with the project – Rajinikanth, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Nagarjuna.

In terms of head to head at the box office, there might not be too much conflict. These two films target different zones. There is no direct clash in terms of language barriers either.
So this independence Day, clash between these two biggies is likely to be more silent than violent. There will be obvious comparisons in box office numbers, but this is going to be very generic and not a like head to head comparison.
