According to Bollywood Hungama, Deepika exited the sequel after negotiations with the producers failed. The actress was reportedly seeking better remuneration and fixed working hours.
The report added that Deepika was allegedly asking for a 35 percent increase in her pay. Following this, the makers decided to move ahead without her, though they have remained silent on the issue officially.
The key question now is how the role will translate on screen with a different face. Online reactions have been divided, with many expressing happiness over Sai Pallavi’s casting.
However, some users felt the producers could have explored other options. They pointed out that Sai Pallavi does not have the same pan-India pull as Deepika and that her popularity is largely concentrated in the South.
