Kayadu Lohar is entering an interesting phase in her career, and the names attached to her next films are making the difference. From Suriya to Sivakarthikeyan, she is now finding herself in combinations that can give her much bigger visibility across the South.
Her latest Telugu release The Paradise has put her on the current radar in Tollywood, but the more interesting story is what comes next. Kayadu is part of Suriya 48, where she stars alongside Suriya. TJ Gnanavel, who made Jai Bhim, is directing the film, with Hombale Films backing the project.
She is also associated with SK27, pairing her with Sivakarthikeyan. Parking fame Ramkumar is directing the film for Sathya Jyothi Films. That is another strong combination, particularly considering the director’s previous work and Sivakarthikeyan’s position in Tamil cinema.
Then there is Manjanathi, directed by Mari Selvaraj, with Ilaiyaraaja composing the music. It is yet another project that brings a filmmaker with a strong identity into Kayadu’s growing filmography.
And the lineup may not stop there. There is buzz that two more Telugu biggies are in talks with the actress, though those projects are yet to be officially confirmed.
That makes Kayadu’s next phase worth watching. She is moving between Telugu and Tamil projects and getting opportunities alongside established stars as well as filmmakers with distinctive styles.
For an actress still early in her journey, the scale of these combinations is certainly getting bigger. Now, it is about what she brings to each of them.
