Keerthy Suresh was once a sought-after actress in Tollywood and her stakes grew massively after a solid performance in Mahanati. Her biggest film in Telugu till date is Sarkaru Vaari Paata with Mahesh Babu. But she has lost the sheen in Tollywood now and doesn’t have much coming her way.
In this context, Amazon Prime announced their slate the other day and went on to publicize a film titled Uppu Kappurambu which has Suhas and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles. This film has quickly sparked a debate.
One section of social media users think that working on the said film is a downgrade for Keerthy as she had earlier worked with Mahesh, Chiranjeevi, Nani, and other noted stars and is now working with Suhas. Their argument is that Keerthy has taken a step down in her career by deciding to work on this film.
But at the same time, there is another social media group that argues that if anything, this is an upgrade for Keerthy as an actress. Their argument is that Keerthy is doing the right thing. “Doing a content-oriented film with a youngster like Suhas is 100X better than doing senseless commercial roles in films like Bholaa Shankar and Sarkaru Vaari Paata. We all saw the actor in her in Mahanati and she can do that more consistently with content films and not commercial films.”
There are two contradicting arguments on Keerthy’s choice as a few say her film with Suhas is a downgrade of whatever stature she has, and others say this is the best way forward for Keerthy to express the actress in her.
