At the same time, the Malayalam industry is in deep crisis. According to Kerala box office analysts, out of the 17 movies released last month, only one, Officer on Duty, managed to break even.
All the other movies were failures, and the total budget for producing these 17 films was around ₹73 crores, while their combined theatrical earnings amounted to only ₹23.5 crores.

Now, Kerala box office analysts are predicting that L2 Empuraan will be the savior of the industry in this crisis, as the film’s pre-bookings assure a solid opening in Kerala.
Apart from Kerala, pre-bookings in Tamil Nadu, North India, and overseas markets like the UAE and North America are also performing well.
