Virat Kohli, Team India’s new Test captain is seen as the future of Indian Cricket and is also deemed as the next Sachin Tendulkar. The popularity of the young batsman is increasing day by day. His Facebook page recently touched the 20 million mark making him the second most followed Indian sportsperson on ‘Facebook’ behind iconic Sachin Tendulkar.
On the global front, Kohli is listed at 20th position, while Tendulkar occupies 13th spot in the list of sports persons who have maximum followers on Facebook. Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list with 107 million, followed by his arch-rival Leo Messi of Argentina with 78 million followers on Facebook respectively.
Kohli already crossed Tendulkar as the most followed cricketer globally on the microblogging site, Twitter. Kohli game a grand opening to Indian team in the ongoing world cup by winning the first match against arch rivals, Pakistan by slamming a century. If he help India to defend the title, sky will be the limit for Kohli’s craze.
