While the Diwali at Telugu box office does not have any crackers in store, it has enough scope for others to come and set alight few crackers of theirs. Four big films are going to release this Diwali across two languages Hindi and Tamil. So who is coming to set alight the crackers in Telugu, well, it’s a Hindi film and that too thanks to the heavy competition among the Tamil films.
Naturally it would be the Tamil films which make best use of the Telugu market through dubbing, we saw that with 7th Sense which released for Diwali couple of years ago and got fabulous openings overshadowing other Diwali release which included a Hindi biggie as well. This Diwali isn’t the same though as there is a huge competition locally in Tamilnadu where each of the three films, are jostling for as many screens as they can during the festive holidays. In the process the Telugu dubbing of these films have been put in the backburner temporarily.
What this has done in hindsight is that it has given Hrithik Roshan starrer Krrish 3 a complete open ground scenario in Telugu. And Krrish 3 is making best use of this by releasing in record number of theaters for a Hindi dubbing film. It is more than making up for its loss of screens in Tamilnadu by the extensive release it’s getting in Telugu. The last two films of the franchise Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish have been big success in Telugu, one has to wait and see if the third installment of this superhero series matches up to the first two or not.
