Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha’s Kushi was released the other day and got decent talk. The movie has got a reasonable opening but it falls below expectations. The opening is good in Nizam and Overseas.
But the Andhra Pradesh numbers are below par. If we look down further, Ceeded opening is below par but that is not unexpected given the genre.
Nizam registered a good number thanks to the pickup from the Evening. The Evening and Night shows particularly in Hyderabad city are very good and helped register good numbers in Nizam.
The promotional strategy of Kushi may be the culprit behind this. After that Musical concert, the makers almost muted the promotions for around ten days before the release which proved costly at the end.
The opening is good but not to the extent of what we expected initially when the movie was on an upswing when three songs clicked.
The Saturday and Sunday numbers will hold the key now. The break-even is a long way to go from here. The first weekend numbers will give us an idea.
Meanwhile, Nani’s Dasara is still Number One when it comes to the opening numbers in both the Telugu states in Tier-2 Heroes.
In North America, $800K for Premieres and Day 1 is good and the labour holiday extended weekend makes things rosy for the film.
