L2 Empuraan OTT

Mohanlal’s Empuraan has been making waves at the box office, achieving spectacular numbers despite facing mixed reviews and controversial scenes.

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film is soon set to cross the Rs. 200 crore gross milestone globally. It will become the second film from Mollywood to achieve this feat after Manjummel Boys.

To address the controversy surrounding certain scenes, the filmmakers have prepared a re-edited version of Empuraan. This version is expected to hit theatres on Monday evening or Tuesday morning following cuts mandated by the Censor Board.

The original version sparked outrage due to some riot and rape scenes, and certain content led to requests for cuts. The final edit saw three minutes removed, including changes to the villain’s name and adjustments to problematic scenes.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the OTT release of L2: Empuraan following its theatrical run. According to reports, the film is expected to stream on JioHotstar after completing its theatrical run, likely around May’s second or third week.

However, there is still uncertainty about which version will be made available on OTT.

Fans are particularly concerned about whether the uncut version, which was originally released in theatres, will be streamed, or if it will be the edited version that was altered to remove controversial content. Given the changes made to the film, many viewers are hoping to experience the original unedited version.

Reports suggest that only the edited version will be released on OTT, which may disappoint fans who were expecting to see the film in its full, uncut glory.
