Legendary director Mani Ratnam has taken a decision which is pretty shocking coming from him. It is a shocking because the director apart from his directorial skills is also well known for his sharp business acumen and the decision he has made berates that quality.

Mani Ratnam’s next is a bilingual multistarrer film that stars names like Karthi, Nani and Dulquer Salman in the lead. While the two non Telugu stars were onboard from the beginning Nani has been a latest addition which in fact made the film a Telugu-Tamil bilingual. The shocking thing here is the cast for the Telugu version of this film which comprises of Nani and Dulquer.
It must be clear to any Telugu movie follower that Karthi is better known and popular face in Telugu than Dulquer. So it comes as shock that the director has picked Nani and Dulquer for Telugu version instead of Nani and Karthi which would make a perfect business sense as it would generate bigger hype for the project.
One wonders if this is because of the characters these stars have been given to play which can’t be altered. We will know about that only when the film releases in late summer next year.
