Trailer Talk: Action-Packed, But Lacks High

LEO TrailerThe makers of Tamil superstar Vijay’s Leo have dropped the trailer for the film a short while ago and this gives a peak into the world of Leo, which is set for theatrical debut on the 19th of this month.

The trailer starts with the introduction of the antagonist, Das, a serial killer. And then, the focus is on the main man, Vijay, who has to defend his family from the attacks of goons.

There is Lokesh Kanagaraj-trademark action shots in the trailer. The shots of the hyena catch the attention and this appears to be a facet of the film.

The dubbing for the hero’s part could have been better, going by the first impression. Anirudh’s BGM is alright. The visuals are slick, as one would expect from a Lokesh directorial.

That said, the cinematic high that is an integral element of Lokesh’s filmography is missing in the trailer. There are no instant high moments or elevation blocks, much to the surprise.

By the looks of it, Leo, is another gangster thriller from Lokesh and this could be a part of his famed Lokesh Cinematic Universe.

If so, this connect advantage could work in favor of the film, like it did in the case of Vikram. But if the audience find this repetitive and resembling other films of Lokesh, things could go south as well.
