Liger Exhibitors of Nizam are sitting in a Dharna for the last few days demanding that Puri Jagannadh and Charmi compensate for their losses. On Monday, their agitation got a boost after Suniel Narang sat in their tent.
Apparently, Suniel also had a due of 3 Crore from Puri and Charmme.
The speech of Suniel at the agitation, however, evoked a mixed response. He is clearly trying to play both sides. He tried to please the Liger exhibitors by saying that he is asking the small ones to be compensated ahead of him.
At the same time, he does not want to mess up with Puri and Charmi. He is asking the exhibitors not to go into confrontation mode and settle the issue without a ruckus.
Suniel is a big player in Nizam distribution obviously he wants to be in the good books of the exhibitors. At the same time, he does not want to mess with Puri and Charmi who are industry people, and also when three Crore rupees of him were at stake.
Also, for a long time, there were rumors in the industry that Narayan Das Narang always wanted to lead the highest governing bodies of the Telugu film industry like the Producers Council and the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce but could not due to the non-local card.
Suniel was able to crack only the Telangana Film Chamber. He may be trying to fulfill the dream by being a champion of small exhibitors. But then, the balancing act would not help him much.
