Rajamouli has this habit of showcasing his heroes in the most masculine way possible. In order to make it happen, he pushes all his heroes to undergo substantial physical makeovers.
The same was seen earlier in the case of Mahesh Babu, it must be said that Rajamouli is surprisingly lenient.
Going by the current looks of Mahesh Babu, it can perhaps be understood that he is not undergoing too much of a makeover physically. He is nearly maintaining his standard look in this film.
Earlier, in the case of Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Junior NTRN Ram Charan, they had to undergo a significant physical makeover for the films with Rajamouli. They were pushed to the very extreme by the master craftsman.
This was clearly evident if you look at the films Baahubali and RRR. But for the film with Mahesh Babu, there doesn’t appear to be as much physical strain and masculine makeover, or at least that is what is implied by Mahesh’s public appearance looks.
One factor that must be considered here is that Mahesh is passed his 50s, and it is physically not advisable to undergo any major makeovers. This is a physically thoughtful and understandable equation.
Mahesh is anyway fit even at this age, and this is what Rajamouli will have to work with. This is simply a compromise that must be made from both concerned parties, and there are no two ways about it.
For what there might be liking in terms of physical masculinity, Rajamouli is expected to more than make up for it with his presentation of Mahesh. This is going to be the crucial part for this film.
