Baahubali: The Torch Bearer is now streaming on Netflix. More than just a making documentary, it revisits the journey of an Indian film that completely changed the landscape of Indian cinema.
While everyone is praising S.S. Rajamouli’s extraordinary vision and relentless hard work, one aspect that has surprised many viewers is the immense dedication and commitment shown by Prabhas.
The documentary highlights the years of sacrifice and discipline he put into bringing Baahubali to life.
That has now sparked an interesting discussion among fans. Can Mahesh Babu earn the same level of appreciation for his commitment to Rajamouli’s next film, Varanasi?
Rajamouli himself has said on multiple occasions that this project is even bigger in scale than Baahubali.
Before Baahubali, Prabhas was never particularly known for being an actor celebrated for extraordinary hard work. The same can be said about Mahesh Babu today. That doesn’t mean either actor hasn’t worked hard throughout their careers. But films like Baahubali or Varanasi demand a completely different level of commitment, physically, mentally, and over several years.
The big question now is whether Mahesh Babu can build the same kind of legacy that Prabhas created through his dedication to Baahubali.
The answer will only come when Varanasi finally reaches the big screen.
