After the setback of her debut film Rebel, Premalu sensation Mamitha Baiju is back in Kollywood with Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude, which released in theatres on October 17.
Though Dude received mixed reviews, Mamitha Baiju’s performance stood out. Viewers praised her natural acting, and many on social media said she has the potential to become one of Kollywood’s leading actresses.
Following Dude, Mamitha has signed several major films Suriya’s untitled project directed by Venky Atluri, Dhanush’s D54 directed by Vignesh Raja, and Vijay’s upcoming and reportedly final film Jana Nayagan.
In D54, she plays a Tamil village girl, and reports say her performance has impressed everyone on set. Meanwhile, her recent interview about working with Vijay went viral online. Mamitha shared that she was nervous on the first day of Jana Nayagan, but Vijay’s friendly gesture made her feel comfortable and confident.
She also spoke about working with Suriya in Suriya 46, mentioning that she had earlier missed the chance to act with him in Vanangaan. When they finally met on set, Suriya told her, “At last, we are working together,” which made her day.
After the interview, fans flooded social media with appreciation and fan edits. Many believe Mamitha Baiju’s strong lineup of big projects could make her one of the most sought-after actresses in South India. If these films succeed, she may well rise to the top of Kollywood.
