Tamil cinema fans get triggered for every reason. They’ve now been handed over a big bone by a top media house in Tamil Nadu.
Going into the story, the pre release event of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan was held in Chennai recently and Tamil media gave good coverage to the same.
In Tamil Nadu, these functions aren’t covered live. The media houses are given the footage and they then play it belatedly. The same happened with Jawan event.
However, there’s a huge catch here and it involves the director of Jawan, Atlee and Tamil superstar Vijay.
Atlee came up with a elevation speech for Vijay and he praised the star hero to the sky. This is understandable, given that Atlee did three films with Vijay. Then came the interesting part.
Sun TV, a top media house in Tamil Nadu played the audio launch event without the bit where Atlee spoke highly of Vijay. This bit was chopped off from the event video played on Sun TV.
Vijay fans then got triggered by the same and they started accusing the media channel o playing political games by intentionally taking out the hit where Atlee spoke highly of Vijay. They’ve called for a boycott of the channel.
But what needs to be noted here is that we don’t quite know if the media channel chopped off the portion on purpose or if it was actually the footage they were given to play by the team of Jawan.
Also, Sun TV worked with Vijay very recently for Beast so they should be on good terms with the hero. But fans aren’t having any of it and they are going all out against the media house.
