To promote the brand of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project, the state government and the construction company, L&T had unveiled the mascot for the project – NIZ which stands for Nizams, the erstwhile Rulers of Hyderabad. NIZ, the mascot also has a story. He was born in 1985 in the family of Nizams. He completed his engineering from IIT-Delhi and pursued a course in urban planning at the Graduate School of Planning and Preservation at Columbia University in USA. Later on he returned to his motherland to serve his own people.
On the lines of unveiling the mascot, It is revealed that a committee of experts is studying the issue of changing the Metro alignment near Sultanbazar and Assembly. The committee will submit a solution within a month to the state government. After the government’s approval it will be submitted to L&T. In all probability, government will also have to bear the excess financial burden due to the changes in the original alignment plan.
