Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film Mega 158, directed by Bobby Kolli, has become a hot topic among fans, but for reasons that are raising doubts and creating panic rather than excitement.
The project created strong buzz right from the start. This is the same combination that delivered Waltair Veerayya, and fans were expecting another mass entertainer. Even though Bobby’s last film Daaku Maharaj was only average, many felt he handled commercial moments well, especially with Thaman’s powerful background score. Naturally, expectations for this film went up.
But now, the biggest issue is that the film has not even started shooting. The makers had planned to launch it in April with a pooja ceremony, but that plan was suddenly stopped.
The main reason behind this delay is the controversy around KVN’s much-delayed film Jana Nayagan. The unexpected online HD print leak of that film has created a major problem for the team. They are now focusing on damage control before moving ahead with new projects.
Because of this, Mega 158 is currently in a waiting phase. The makers are expected to move forward only after things settle around Jana Nayagan. This delay may not affect the film’s final outcome, but for a star like Chiranjeevi, sitting idle at home without any ongoing shoot can increase pressure and even invite trolling.
There are also a few questions here. Was the planning too dependent on one banner? Could this delay have been avoided with better scheduling? How long will fans have to wait without any official update?
In simple terms, the excitement for Mega 158 is still there, but it is slowly turning into impatience. Some fans are even demanding that Chiranjeevi and Bobby move the project to another big banner, as they feel KVN Productions has become a jinxed production house. They point to multiple issues like Jana Nayagan facing delays and leaks, Yash’s Toxic getting postponed with low buzz, and KD The Devil facing backlash over the vulgar “Sarke” song.
Fans now want Chiranjeevi to use his industry connections and set up the same project with a different and big production house who can make this project smoothly without any issues.
