Rajinikanth’s most anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is all set to hit the screens on October 15th. With only a few days left until the release, pre-bookings for the film have now started in many centres.
Shockingly, the pre-bookings for Jailer 2 are very average. While for Rajinikanth‘s last release Coolie there was unreal ticket pressure, for Jailer 2 people are getting tickets easily from the booking platforms themselves. Even more surprisingly, even the FDFS tickets have not gone housefull in many theatres across Tamil Nadu.
On the other hand, sources suggest that even though the overseas pre-sales of Jailer 2 have crossed the $1 million mark, it is reportedly not even 50% close to Coolie’s pre-sales.
Consequently, many social media users have started claiming that it seems like the hype for Jailer 2 has been terribly affected due to disappointing promotional material and poor promotions.
They claim that Sun Pictures has totally messed up the promotions for Jailer 2 without proper planning and has spoiled the record breaking opening day numbers of the film.
Meanwhile, Kollywood insiders are sharing overwhelmingly positive reviews about Jailer 2, suggesting that it will become another iconic film for Kollywood and believing that it will 100% satisfy audience expectations.
However, because of the average pre-bookings, the massive success of Jailer 2 now solely relies on positive word of mouth. Since the distributors of Jailer 2 have secured a massive screen count for the film in almost every state in India, if reports are positive after the FDFS, the true potential of Jailer 2 will be unleashed and it will run on a rampage at the box office.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether the pre-bookings for Jailer 2 pick up in the following days and whether the film will emerge as a massive blockbuster success upon its release on October 15th.
