Day 1 BO: Mirai Opens Big, What Next?

Mirai and Kishkindapuri box office clash

The Telugu box office saw two significant releases on 12th September Mirai and Kishkindapuri. Both films generated buzz, but it was Mirai that made a powerful impact on day one.

Teja Sajja continues his successful streak post-HanuMan with Mirai. The film opened to a massive start, reportedly grossing ₹27 crore worldwide on its first day. This includes an impressive domestic response and a promising start in the Hindi belt.

In the Hindi market, Mirai collected around ₹2.5 crore nett. It seems Teja‘s strong impression from HanuMan is helping him build traction with North Indian audiences once again.

In the US, Mirai has already crossed $726K and is expected to hit the $1 million milestone by the weekend. Strong advance bookings for Saturday suggest the film is set for another big day.

Meanwhile, Kishkindapuri had a decent opening with positive reviews. However, the overwhelming box office presence of Mirai has slightly impacted its early collections.

That said, Kishkindapuri has received favourable word of mouth and could build momentum over the coming days as audiences explore more options beyond the Mirai wave.
